About Us

Katie is the Founder and President of Green Dollar Bookkeeping & Tax, LLC. She is an Illinois native. She is the second oldest of six siblings and is of Ecuadorian descent. Katie is ethically driven to assist the Hispanic community. She is currently working as a Comptroller for a private Property Management company, located in Northbrook, IL, which specializes in maximizing investment opportunities in market rate and affordable multi-family housing. She has been with them since 2011. In 2010, she obtained a Bachelors in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management from Robert Morris University, in Chicago, IL. She briefly relocated to Colorado Springs, CO, in 2012, which is where she decided to further her education and obtained a Masters of Science with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Phoenix. She is currently sitting for the CPA exam and is expected to become a licensed CPA in the State of Illinois in 2020. Katie has over 15 years of accounting experience including bookkeeping, controllership, office administration, auditing and taxes working for small to large businesses and accounting firms dealing with all aspects of business accounting including GL, AP/AR, quarterly & annual reports, credit & collections, cash flow analysis, account reconciliation, fixed assets, sales and use tax, payroll reporting, both personal and business income tax returns, financial statements, and assisting in audits. Her entrepreneurial spirit kicked in and Katie established her own practice focused on helping businesses, individuals and nonprofit organizations to reach their financial goals while maintaining their reporting obligations to various state and federal agencies. Her main goal for her clients is to be there for them in all aspects of the business. She prides herself on personal service and to help her clients be the best they can be!

There are numerous opportunities to make a difference in the community. Most people volunteer primarily because of the personal satisfaction they get from helping others. Every year Green Dollar Bookkeeping & Tax offers to do pro bono bookkeeping/accounting for nonprofit organizations for an entire year.
